DiStefano Winery has a long standing reputation of making quality, high-end, premium red and white wines. Long before the hordes of other boutique wineries moved here (over 50 and counting), DiStefano was kickin it in their little corner of Woodinville.
The focus of DiStefano has been to produce Bordeaux varietal wines such as Sogno (Cab Franc) and Ottimo (Cab Sauvignon), Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc. They were one of the first wineries in the state to produce a single varietal Cabernet Franc, which has historically been used only as a blending grape. They were also producing Rose' (along with Chinook Wines) before most wineries. Their Sauternes style dessert wine, St John, is a great value. They also produce two second label red wines; Domenica, a Merlot based Bordeaux style blend and Donna Marie, a Syrah based Rhone style blend.
Everything is done well here- Riedel stemware, upscale art decorations and rich wood furniture give the tasting room a warm gallery feeling. The tasting room staff are concerned with attending to their guests with great care, so small groups are welcome here, but larger groups without a prior appointment may be turned away if the tasting room is crowded.
DiStefano has an outside patio area where patrons can sit and sip wine when the weather permits. They also host private catered events in their wine cellar.
